Majorcan cuisine, based on vegetables, cereals and fish, seafood, poultry, beef, lamb and pork black is a very good demonstration of Mediterranean diet.

 The brown bread without salt, together with olive oil and tomatoes combine to make an excellent “pa amb oli” (bread with oil).

Among the starters we highlight the different coques (with vegetables, onion, tempera, roasted peppers, etc.), coquerrois, empanadas and the tombet (dish prepared with fried zucchini, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes and potatoes, which can serve as starter or accompaniment), sopes mallorquines, the frit of fish or offal, and fava parada (bean soup).

Among the highlights in fish: The grouper baked with vegetables, the Caproig (scorpionfish) boiled or baked, the dèntol (dentex), the gall de Sant Pere (roosterfish), the rock fish with rice, stuffed squid, llampuga the oven or with peppers, molls frits (fried mullet), the raors, lobsters, shrimps, or cigala mallorquina (Scyllarides latus). Meat: porcella al forn (roast suckling pig), conill amb ceba (rabbit in onion), xot rostit (roasted lamb), llengua amb tàperes (tongue with capers), tords o llom amb col (thrushes or pork tenderloin with cabbage).

For breakfast or snack: Sobrassada, the camaiot, the butifarrons.

Desserts: Ensamada, rubiols, gató, cake quarto, Greixonera de brossat (curd), crespells, coca bamba, pastis de pobre de Manacor (thousand leaves cake with cream burned).

Beverages: Wine (D.O. Pla de Mallorca and Levante, Binissalem), Palo (liquor between 25% and 36% by volume of alcohol, based on cinchona bark and gentian macerated in alcohol and burnt sugar. It is usually taken as an aperitif and with siphon), Spirits of herbs (fennel, rosemary, verbena, chamomile, lemon, orange), there are sweet, dried and mixed. The drier can reach 50% by volume of alcohol.
